My name is Matt Abendschein, and this is my beautiful wife Meggie and our beautiful daughter Presley Evelyn whom I love dearly. We lived in Austin for around five years before moving to Dallas (current residency), but I fell in love with this city. I mean, what’s not to love about it?
Craft beer and supporting your local brewers has been a passion of mine for awhile now. I got into good craft beer back in college when I had my first Samuel Adams. I thought to myself, wow, this beer actually has flavor. Every time I took a sip, I was in my own world. Ever since then, I have made it a mission of mine to go out and explore the great world of beer. Being in Texas, it’s also very easy to get sucked into the local scene, being that there are so many great local breweries here. Now, my mission is still to try new beers, but to also, and especially, support the local brewers.
My favorite beers vary, but some great ‘go-tos’ include Live Oak Hefe, Community Wit, Hops & Grain Zoe, Peticolas Velvet Hammer and anything from Pinthouse Pizza.
Daniel was born in the minutia of craft beer, and evolved and refined his tastes and preferences of beer with the hopes of one day becoming master of the craft beer universe. Sadly, those dreams died with his increased laziness and now he’s content with drinking craft beer and writing about it. His hatred of grammar remains however.
His favorite beer is Live Oak Hefe, but he often doesn’t like to admit this despite the beer’s perfect example of the Hefeweizen style.
Carlos grew up in Texas, left for a few years, and now lives in Austin. Design, Music and Beer are among his favorite things and he loves to help out the local craft beer scene any way he can.
His favorite beer is Hops & Grain Pale Dog. I mean, c’mon, it’s perfect for any occasion.
Sahara makes her living in music and in beer. She is the Manager of Operations at WhichCraft, an all craft beer retail store, and the lead singer of local band Girl Pilot.
